Mica heaters:

They are used in equipment and systems that use thermal energy transferred by conduction. The greatest possible area of contact between the resistance and the surface through which heat is transferred and the firmness of this contact are of great importance to achieve good efficiency and ensure a longer life. For this reason heaters are generally installed pressed.

For its construction, resistive wires of rectangular cross-section, coiled and insulated in laminated mica are used, for some applications they are shielded in stainless steel. Mica is a good electrical insulator and excellent heat conductor.

Characteristics:

  • Maximum operating temperature 500 ° C.
  • Heat transfer by conduction.
  • Temperature uniformity at the receiving surface.

Applications:

  • Household irons.
  • Presses to Vulcanize.
  • Stamping machines.
